Should Beowulf be added to Oprahs list of classical books?

No, because beowulf isn't based on factual evidence and solely on fiction. Even though it is very old i don't feel like kids ranging from the ages 16-18 would feel compelled to read Beowulf. The books is almost too predictable. Beowulf only faces three antagonists; Grendel, Grendel's Mother, and The Dragon. Beowulf seems to be very similar to Hercules except for the fact that Beowulf doesn't have a happy ending but does have inhuman strength and faces beasts that would never exist. In my opinion i beleive that Beowulf is more of a movie type of book meaning the actions written would be more powerful if displayed visually which is why i feel that Beowulf should serve as a graphic novel or movie instead of a classic.
